Leaving grammar school, Andy became a computer operator. Made redundant in 1976 Andy then attended Salford University, where he gained a Bachelor of Science with honours in 'Electronic Computer Systems'.
During these years as a student Andy continued to gain experience as a computer operator at weekends and holidays.
While at Salford University Andy joined the British Computer Society, being elected as a full member (MBCS) in 1987. In 1990 Andy had the honour of 'Chartered Systems Engineer' (CEng) bestowed on him by the Engineering Council.
Upon leaving Salford University Andy gained information technology experience in several software houses, rising to Information Technology Manager for a national company, a position he held for several years.
In the early nineties Andy started Optionchain Ltd. concentrating and targeting mainly on the Oracle and Microsoft development environments.
Optionchain was approached in 1995 to develop a call centre application, this has grown on to the successful application 'The Contact System'.
